- Call up your best friend.
- Listen to your favorite songs from what feels like a lifetime ago (my feel-good playlist features all the songs I loved during my senior year of high school and freshman year of college; ah, a throwback to when I was young and naive).
- Curl up by a window with a cup of tea + a new book.
- Binge-watch a TV series (my guilty pleasure is SATC, predictably).
- Get a new bathrobe (the plusher the better), brew tea with lemon + ginger, start a DIY at-home facial. Light candles, steam your face, apply a mask to your hair + face, and marinate in yourself in an extravagant bath.
- Sleep.
- Clean + re-organize the room where you spend the majority of your time.
- Change your alarm to “Good Morning” by John Legend. Trust—it’ll make waking up easier and early mornings sweeter.
- Disconnect from social media for a day…
- … or take it one step further + unplug from technology.
- Write a journal entry.
- Buy a new nail polish for a fresh mani/pedi.
- Practice yoga or Pilates.
- Relax in a steam room, then refresh with a green juice.
- Be inspired by a new lifestyle! Pick up a copy of The Beauty Detox or Deliciously Ella and start flipping through. Change—for the better—is exciting.
- Visit an art gallery.
- Take a walk, armed with a camera (or phone, whatever’s your jam) and/or good music.
- Dance in your silkiest robe or laciest lingerie. Don’t laugh. Just do it.
- Light your favorite candle.
- Buy yourself a bouquet of fresh flowers.
- Cuddle. With someone you love.
- Order pizza and enjoy with prosecco. Or, if ice cream direct from the tub is more your speed, do that instead.
- Sit outside, preferably in a garden or park. Don’t forget bug repellent and sunscreen.
- Self-tan. If ever there were a satisfying, instant pick-me-up, it’s a good bronze.
- Watch Aziz Ansari. Hilarious, smart, and socially conscious = my type of comedian.
- Bring out a stack of old magazines. Flip through and tear out the images (or words) that speak to you. Collage a few pages as a start for an inspiration binder, or create moodboards for your work space, living space, or wardrobe. Then, recycle the unused stuff—you get your dose of inspiration and some de-cluttering done in one sweep.
