I haven’t blogged in exactly a week.
It’s not to say I haven’t tried; I have multiple drafts saved—started, and left unfinished—all due to a lack of inspiration. Being sickly hardly helps either. But I’m itching to publish something; I owe all you 322 (I’m absolutely flabbergasted!) followers some common decency at the least. Posting regularly must will resume, but before that ensues, I leave you all with a little thank-you-for-being-so-patient-with-me surprise…
I’ve been a massive fan of alice + olivia for as long as I can remember; it was their dresses that were love at first sight. Every design embodies the young, modern woman of today: girly, sophisticated, edgy, sexy. It’s cute, it’s quirky. But it’s also incredibly chic and sassy without becoming cliché. Le sigh. If only a girl could use her credit card[s] à la Rebecca Bloomwood (Confessions of a Shopaholic, darlings! I absolutely adore the Debbie Denim Military Jacket, it’s perfectly “navy chic.” Which is what I call my own style when trying to sound fashionable. It “glamourously” translates to only every wearing blue, gray, and white.
I’d wear this jacket with a loose white top and a heap of long, gold necklaces, and then go have a picnis under a sweeping willow while watching sunlight get caught in the ripples of a lake. Eating cupcakes, of course.
Love alice +olivia!!! Hope the inspiration is back! I hate when that happens that you start one post after the other one but nothing at the end….. Hope you have a fabulous week full of inspiration!

Living in the South, it gets uber hot down here but it’s so hard to find shorts that I’d be willing to wear out in public! These are both cute AND sophisticated–a rare gem in the shorts-shopping world, believe me!
I love the little flirty, flouncy cut that makes them look more dressed up than your ordinary pair and the khaki color that means they’ll match everything, and be ready for a walk to the grocery store or a date night with my dear husband! Best pair of shorts I’ve seen all season!!
I am completely obsessed with the Casey Cluster Sequin Dress in navy. (And look, my size is the only one left! It’s a sign! It’s meant to be!) I would wear it for a fun night out with the girls, à la Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City.

You are a girl after my own heart! I adore Alice + Olivia too, so you must know that picking one favorite piece is a considerable feat. I have une affaire de cœur with the Gold Sequin Miniskirt. I just love the subtle pattern the sequins make. I would let this shimmery piece be the star of my outfit and pair it with a classic shirt and a fitted blazer, along with a statement necklace that doesn’t draw too much attention away from this absolutely darling skirt. What I love the most about this pairing is that you can wear it day to night, perfect for a busy work day followed by a night out with my girls!

It’s hard to find a really good LBD. Alice + Oliva has put a new obsession within a mouse click. From the front it looks short, tight, but not the least bit trashy. Then you turn around and see your favorite part, the back that dips down low to meet the zipper. Three straps placed in the middle of the open back allow for some separation from other scoop back dresses.
It can be transformed to be the sexy little dress we all need in our closets. Paired with messy, disheveled curls, booties, and a ‘ I’m hotter than you attitude’. Or it can be classy and modelesque with strappy heels or pumps and a tight controlled ponytail. Being able to be styled into a range of looks is always a key part in picking out clothing, and Alice + Oliva has made this dress to fit in perfectly with all looks. This is a dress that can never look too dressed up, or too risqué. It would look at home on the streets of New York at night, or at your next dressed up event.
This dress is practically begging me to order it, so this contest is a dream come true. Living in the middle of nowhere leaves me few places to get my fashion fixes. I’m pleased to say that La Couturier and Shopbop has helped me remain classy, fabulous, and sane.

The Fierra Y Back tank dress in teal would hands down be my pick. To me there is nothing more sexy then keeping it simple, and nothing more benefiting then a summer dress that really flourishes that russet tan you worked so hard perfecting. I would add a pair of Pixie Dust Earrings and bronze gladiator heels, adding a unique perspective to the dress but not taking away from its effortless simplicity. I would wear this look to a night out with the girls… lets say to LOKAL restaurant on North Ave. in chicago. A trendy little restaurant where we can mix in mingle with fellow city-goers. It is the perfect balance of chic and sophisticated with breezy and fun. And I love the straps on the back- they show off just the right amount of tan, sexy summer skin.
I am going to Australia this summer, and this dress would definitely be worn there. I can see it worn on a boat, more casually with some flat sandals, beachy waves, and a slouchy cardigan or blazer. But it is also perfect for the evening, worn with heels, a glittery hair accessory, smokey eyes, and a soft pink nude lipstick- great for dancing the night away with the koalas and kangaroos, and some men with accents.

This dress is simply stunning. I love the cut and the length, and I’m a huge fan of polka dots in the summer. I really think that you two should meet. You’ll definitely make a lovely combination. I love that the top is made from silk-chiffon – it’s one of my favourite fabrics, because it makes the garment looks so romantic. Also, I love the dark purple color and the asymmetrical design. I think the different shades of purple of the top and the sandals can look great together without making the outfit boring.
