By now my affinity for (black) leather satchels comes at no surprise. It’s predictable, even borderline boring.
That simply makes me incredibly easy to shop for, no?
I consider Zoe Saldana to be the ultimate actress—low-key but powerful in every which way—and list her amongst one of my top style icons. Her wardrobe is very much a direct reflection of who she is as an individual: it’s beautiful. Combine the two—a style icon and a striking bag hanging from the crook of her arm—and some sleuthing was in order. If only Nancy Drew had Google at her pretty little fingertips…
Instant gratification at but a few seconds later (though I must say—Google takes away from the beauty of snooping around; where has the mystery gone?). On Saldana’s arm was the beautiful Alexander McQueen Heroin satchel. Any bag named Heroine—and worthy of such a title—has my heart. She (the Heroine) is the bag of our women today. A classic beauty who pays tribute to the bags of women past whilst still holding true to what the woman today needs. She’s structured for professional appeal, but curvy around the edges to soften her edge. Supple leather makes her gentle. Feminine. Kind. She’s edgy too: a naughty little cut-out flap is a standout characteristic, with gold zips up the sides for potential peek-a-boo action.
She’s the not-so-basic basic black leather bag, the Heroine.
Oh, to have thee in the crook of my own arms…
