Ostrich. So luxe it gives me the goosepimples. Or hee-bee jee-bees. Tomato, tom-ahh-to. Regardless of what you call them my own skin starts to resemble that of the thousand-dollar-priced material just after a moment’s glance. (The look never works for me as well as it does for a luxury bag, unfortunately; give me a cardigan, please.)
And luxe calls for simplicity, which Mulberry never fails to do right. Anything beyond a classic shape—a doctor satchel, in this case, with only a signature plate as detail—would take away from the ostrich. Mulberry dubbed it the “del Rey” in honor of the singer whose “soulful, melancholy voice and nostalgic beauty,” according to a release, captivated Mulberry creative director Emma Hill (Fashionista.com).
Whether the bag conveys the vibe Hill loved in del Rey’s “Video Games” music video isn’t of importance to me (though I can’t seem to see any direct inspiration). What I do know, however, is that I like what I see.
And what I see is a good bag. A good, classic bag. In ostrich, no less, meaning it’s begged to be touched.

Your writing always gives me the giggles.
You should do more bag whores (that sounds so wrong in hindsight, oops), you do a fantastic bag analysis. Actually you just write great copy.
