I stopped by a Kilian launch party for their newest fragrance, Angels’ Share On the Rocks—a flanker of the much beloved, booze-and-apple-pie gourmand Angels’ Share. The original is overtly delicious, a sort of sweet seduction best wielded with shiny blowout. On the Rocks, however, is notably softer. A touch powdery even, to soften the new, and rather bright, citrus twist sipped through frosted glass. Still sexy, though surprisingly subdued given its inspiration. And because I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from the night, I kept to a version of my all-black uniform: a top with some element of drama, wide-legged trousers, Manolo Blahnik Carolynes. The bag would add either texture or color, in addition to a sense of comfort. Something to occupy my hands when I enter a room without knowing anyone, save the publicist.
For this particular evening, I wore the Jacquemus Pablo top (a draped one-shoulder-halter hybrid that earned a bountiful of compliments), Khy x Entire Studios pleated low-waist pants (which I hate to admit are the most perfectly cut trousers), and micro zodiac pixel-printed Lady Dior from Maria Grazia Chiuri’s 2022 “Lucky Dior” capsule collection.
