It’s no secret that I adore Carine Roitfeld (a woman who epitomizes style, success, and sex appeal at any age)—so when news of her Fall 2016 collection with Uniqlo came out, I (obviously) set up a reminder on my phone. Her style is impeccable. The partnership with Uniqlo is genius. The collection is everything you’d expect from the person and company combined: Featured are Carine’s signature pieces at an affordable price point, and wearable for women. And I mean women, all ages. Not just the typical, millennial demographic. These are the pieces I’m hoping to pick up: It wouldn’t be a collection by Carine without a full-length, leopard-print coat. If I were in my mid-thirties I’d be brave enough (and mature enough) to pull off such a statement coat without looking like a little girl trying on her mother’s clothes. (For reference: I look like I’m 16 sans makeup; with makeup, I look like I’m 20 tops.) One does not just wear a leopard fur coat and expect to look chic: one has to earn the right to wear one.
