ColourPop 'Lumiere' Matte Lippie Stix Swatch + Review
I’ve been curious about ColourPop since its launch months ago. Priced affordably at $5 – $8 (cheaper than drugstore brands these days) and supposedly of quality rival to high-end brands, the only thing that put me off, admittedly, was the packaging. It’s sleek and minimalist, sure, but I’m more of a matte black than bright white kind of girl (think: NARS, Bobbi Brown). Totally superficial, I know. I gave in a few days ago. I’ve seen all the reviews, the incredible swatches—the holographic logo imprinted in my mind—but it wasn’t until I saw that it was a possible dupe for Tom Ford ‘Pussycat’ lipstick and NARS Audacious lipstick in ‘Anna,’ I succumbed. I’ve been eyeing ‘Pussycat’ for a year now, put off by the hefty $50 price tag for a beautiful, beautiful bullet of the perfect purple-tinged pink. Turns out that ColourPop’s matte Lippie Stix in ‘Lumiere’ (created by YouTube beauty guru KathleenLights) is less vibrant than what I was hoping for. It is, however, pretty spot on for NARS ‘Anna.’ It’s that Kylie Jenner-inspired, dusty mauve-pink: definitely not a nude, but a little bolder than your average neutral lip.
