Beauty secret: The best, non-stick, non-gross, non-unnaturally hard hairspray is p e r f u m e .

I always spritz a bit into my damp hair when it’s tied in a messy bun. The next morning, I take out the elastic, and voila: perfectly intact waves. I spritz a bit more into it, and it holds for the next few hours.
Perfect for the coveted, piece-y, boho waves look.
Just a few spritzes do the trick. And make your hair smell lovely.
I confessed!
Bisous,
La C.
oooh, can’t wait till my hair gets long enough to do the messy bun trick! thanks for disclosing. 🙂
Ooh! How amazing! Thanks for the confession/tip!
Does the alcohol dry your hair out at all? 🙂
xx
I do this too and I love it!
Woah what a neat trick!
ah thats a great trick. I just quite smoking a little under two weeks ago and I have to say I am absolutely LOVING my hair not smelling like smoke and smelling all pretty 🙂 I will def try this out xx
Hi there-what a great tip, thanks!
Awesome tip! I’ll definitely try it soon!
Ooo, I’ve never done this. But I’m definitely going to do this! Thanks
Oh no! But perfume contains alcohol, which dries out your hair!! Please use sparingly!
Leia: Thanks for telling me! I figured it can’t be too good for your hair, since any concoction is a chemical, but hairspray is too. I only put two spritzes – one when my hair is damp, one when it’s dry to hold =] But thanks!
What A Fabulous idea! I have to try it!
BTW – What is your favourite perfume atm?
xx
Macaron Treat ♥♥: At the moment, I love anything from Victoria’s Secret. Specifically Heavenly! It’s a light, musky scent that becomes deeper through out the day. A must have, I think. All the boys love it when I wear it ;]
Bisous,
La C.
This I must try 🙂
Actually I do exactly the same 😉
Nice posts!

Is there any difference if you use eau de toilette instead of actual perfume?
Confused: I don’t think there’s any difference at all; eau de toilette might be better in that is has a lesser alcohol content (better for your hair). But as far as I know, perfume works better as a makeshift hairspray!

No way…I would’ve never guessed! Will definitely have to try!
I love doing that. =) Especially with my Chanel No 5 (gift from the boyfriend last year – finally!) or my other favorite, Kenzo Amour. Such lovely, feminine scents that everyone notices. There are so many little things for us ladies to have fun with.
Oooh I never thought of this, thank you! Must try it. I do, however, like to spritz hairspray on a hairbrush, then brush my hair with it. It’s just the perfect amount of scent and it last for sooo much longer than on skin xxxx
I do that! Somebody told me about this trick and it’s so useful and smells so well 🙂
That sounds like a fantastic idea. I hope you have a great weekend. Cheers!
I used to put it on my hair too, but then had to stpo because it spoilt them… but I have very delicate hair!
I had never considered using it for waves!

omg i am totally going to try that! thanks!
Haha, this is a best kept secret that – okay dries out a little bit the hair – but it’s ok if you don’t go to the sun afterwards, and it gives this effortless super cute look.. mmmh, Prada my friend, what would I do without you? xx
I so agree. But if it’s for shine and a wonderful smell? Put body lotion on your hands, and rub it through your hair. I do it all the time, and it always keeps my hair smelling divine and looking shiny! 🙂
really? i never would have guessed!
i’ll try it sometime 🙂
I found this out totally by accident by mis-aiming with my perfume! Glad I’m not the only one who does it! x
what a great tip!! that illustration is so pretty too 🙂
xx
Cool tip! Lovely illustration as always!
XoXo
My friends also do it! Now I know you can get perfect waves from spritzing some parfume in your hair, I will give it a try.
maybee a bit expencive…
what a practical idea! i should try it.
i usually just braid it while it’s still damp, or close to dry and it’ll do the trick. unfortunately, when the weather’s normal, my hair will become extremely braid-wavy, yet when it’s weird, it’ll be just right.
i know i have to wait until my hair’s a lot longer before I bun it up, because it’ll get too crazy and messy when it’s not.
i’m sure the perfume will be a splendid trick with the hairspray like qualities and the scent!
thanksss <3
wow! i love this!!!
only you would think of such spectacular a thing!!
So trying this out! Fabulous tip!
Oohh interesting! The only thing is I have such a sensitive nose one spritz of perfume is enough for my wrists, elbows, AND the backs of my ears. Several spritzes in the hair might do me in. 🙂
I will definitely try this! I’ve been trying to find a way to get that wavy look for quite some time. Thanks for the tip 🙂

Omg this tip is godsent!
You’re full of surprises!
I will totally try this!
ahh…good tip!
i never thought to spritz it onto wet/damp hair…makes sense though.
That is a fabulous tip!
I have all these bottles of perfume that I never finish so this will be a perfect way to reduce my collection!
Thanks for your comment on my blog by the way =) It is so hard to find rings for small fingers…
Oh wow, I’ve tried it for the smell but never tought about the waves…. great tip, I’ll try it !
Especially with this spring weather, it’s so cool to have boho hair !
I do this too…it’s a fabulous secret, and it seems to make the boys in my lectures want to sit closer and smell my hair as they’re always so baffled as to how hair could smell so good!
One thing I never have a shortage of is French perfume, but I lived almost 44 years without knowing this tip. Thanks.~Mary
What a cool idea! I will have to try it out sometime!
Wow, I’ve never thought about doing this. I am going to try it! Thanks for the confession 😉
xo
haha i love it!
I do the same, especially during summer, the scent really lasts a long time when you spray it in your hair. If my hair gets frizzy I put scented perfume lotion through it so it gets a little matted down, love it
cute post girl!
Your welcome! But I really would love for you to write a book, your blog is so amazing!
Great tip, I’m going to try it tonight!
What!!! Really? That’s an awesome, awesome idea. OH MAN!
fab, i love this. and i also took a perfume making class this past year where we learned that it’s much better to put perfume in hair than clothes b/c hair is living and will actually be able to fuse with the perfume while clothing is not and will not keep the scent (of natural perfume). so your instinct is perfect!
xo
Will definitely try this! Thanks 🙂
That’s something I’ve never heard before! I always spray my hair with perfume before I go out. Just a spritz or two is enough. I have long hair so whenever I move, I can smell a nice scent coming from my hair – and people can smell it too 🙂
Thanks! I’ve tried it, and love it 😀
