A late-night list. More stream of consciousness than anything else.
1. It’s nearly midnight as I’m writing this. Unfortunately, the late-night sprint isn’t the result of sudden inspiration or having something particularly worthwhile to share, but one that spurred out of guilt. So much of my time is spent elsewhere, and most of my words are for someone else (something I’m most grateful to be able to do)—which means when it comes to the personal, I feel as though I’ve been emptied out. Perhaps this block is seasonal or something pre-written in the stars; for now, I hope half-baked thoughts will do. (At least I will have tried.)
2. What I have had luck in, however, is stumbling upon the most incredible vintage pieces. Sterling hoops from Mexico, Elsa Peretti for Tiffany & Co. clip-ons, the YSL winged pair pictured above. A Jean Paul Gaultier blazer—impeccable in cut, with a nipped and boned waist—and Yves Saint Laurent Rive Guache men’s jacket. And to think: this is but the tip of the iceberg. The hunt is delicious and even more so when things seem to just fall into my lap.
3. Any time remaining has been dedicated to my next fragrance story. I can’t wait to share it soon.
4. I do believe in method writing, so while editing that piece I wore this eau de toilette. (Spoiler.) As someone who’s committed to perfumes with body, I’m as surprised as you are by how much I enjoyed it.
5. And last, but certainly not least: I have bookshelves. Finally! It was a week-long ordeal to get them here, and it’ll be another week until I’m finally able to sort through my little library.
See you on the flipside.
. . .
xx
