1. Oh, the feminine urge to turn my apartment upside down—to deep clean, purge, and reorganize with the ruthlessness of a Miranda Priestly and the gentleness of the Marie Kondo! It’s a compulsion, really, one that emerges every time I’m ready to close a chapter in my life. No matter how big or small, it’s a desire that persists to the point of overwhelm:
So, yes: this Friday night will be spent in, celebrating by way by cleaning, preening, and of course, Uber Eats.
2. Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2022, Very Peri, is pure perfection. Should Smythson or Leuchtturm1917 consider a collection of stationery in this shade, we all know where my money’s going.
3. I’ll be back visiting the East Coast soon, and I’m not mentally—much less physically—prepared to face the bitter cold. Yes, my beloved knits and Uniqlo Heattech will finally see the light after a year (why I even packed them with me at all, I’m not sure), and I’m excited to unearth them for this trip, but now that the mid-50s are considered cold enough for a puffer, pray tell: how will I survive a Jersey winter?
4. In the same vein—this means the wardrobe of black and neutrals will be back, and the Yamazaki ladder of colorful, Californian wear will be in storage until spring. It’s like I’m a different person depending on the coast.
5. Tonight’s cleaning spree will be fueled by leftover pizza (a DeRose pie from Pura Vita Pizzeria) and Avaline rosé, a comforting, perfect pairing for the night before new beginnings.
. . .
xx
