1. Some start their mornings with an affirmation, I avoid my phone until I read an entry from Patti Smith’s A Book of Days that corresponds with the date. Same thing, really.
2. I’m completely consumed by all things pistachio. Consuming them, too (the flavored foods, not the hyped perfume—though I’ve been wearing this D.S. & Durga scent obsessively since a bottle came into my possession.)
3. If you haven’t read Token Black Girl, you should. Danielle Prescod is a beautiful writer. I’m currently re-reading it so I can fully appreciate the pace of her words this time around.
4. Though I’m particular about tea, I’m far from a connoisseur. Rarely do I stray from my reliable favorites too, but sometime last month I was feeling rather adventurous and in the mood for a soft, sweet blend. (A description that probably doesn’t make sense to anyone but my taste buds.) Rishi’s Lavender Mint sachets caught my eye and I’m happy to report that expectations aligned with the beautiful packaging. It’s a delicate floral—no traces of papery bitterness at all—enveloped by sweet mint. Lovely before bed, especially while it’s piping hot. The contrast is just invigorating in the gentlest way.
5. The perfect manicure: this nail hardener, two thin coats of Glosslab Sheer Pink, plus one even layer of Londontown Quartz Illuminating Nail Concealer. No top coat. You’re welcome.
