1. First order of business: Apologies, truly, if you were on the receiving end of last night’s spam featuring (late and long overdue) Fall 2022 Paris Fashion Week reviews. I know no one really cares, especially with the way news will cycle in and out these days, but I can’t help but be a little neurotic about completing self-set goals. True, I could’ve just let go and continued on, but it would’ve been a declaration that personal projects are less valuable than client-facing ones.
This is something I’m actively trying to shift my mindset about because there is value—arguably even greater importance—in the personal. There’s no “tangible” reward on the other side of it, but so what? Am I any less fulfilled than when I submit a piece of work? I’m almost ashamed that it’s taken me over a decade to understand that not everything needs to be productive or monetized. Better late than never, I know.
… but really, I am sorry for the inbox takeover. No hard feelings if you unsubscribe.
2. I’ve officially joined the ranks of women who swear by daily walks. Without hyperbole, it’s been life-changing for mind, mood, and even how I feel in my body. These are the Nikes I wear because I happen to have them, but if there are orthopedic sneakers that are better equipped to tolerate two-mile walks every day, please share. (I’m slowly shelving my heels in favor of more practical, walkable shoes.)
3. But if you’re like me—new to the world of comfort (!!!) but can’t let go of the height—Alohas makes the most comfortable heeled sandals. I always end up reaching for these puffy mules over everything else.
4. I have another favor to ask: where can I buy Vogue China without spending exorbitant amounts on eBay? I’ve been poring over the editorials lately and want an excuse to hoard beautiful things.
5. Oh. I also started reading Proust. Wish me luck.
. . .
xx
