1. It’s been a while since I’ve written a list. Or written at all, to be honest, outside the scope of my job. I pour my energy into my work. Physically clocking out or hitting CTRL+S doesn’t end the work day for me; I’m forever thinking, brainstorming, editing, re-writing, pitching. I love what I do. I care about my my job and moreover, I care about the brand I work for—which means while I’m happy to dedicate all the time I humanly can to it, boundaries don’t exactly exist.
My upcoming vacation (in less than two months!) is coming at the perfect time.
2. Speaking of lists. At the beginning of this month, I downloaded the “Five-Minute Journal” app. It’s been well over a year since I’ve journaled, and in an attempt to get myself out of this year-(or more)-long feeling of being stuck, I’ve started filling out each entry as best as I can. I can’t attest to it being a huge, life-changing addition—I’ll need at least a month of consistency before I report back—but it feels therapeutic. Maybe it’ll be healing. Maybe it’ll push me to change. Who knows.
We’ll see.
3. I’m so lucky to have parents who will drop everything to support me, even if it means waiting in a parking lot for three (!) hours juuust in case I needed them. I learned two things that day: (1) I may be faking the whole adulthood thing because I have my mom and dad as a crutch, but (2) I will always need them no matter how old I am. Do not tell them I said that because I guarantee that they’ll insist I hold off on moving out and stay at home.
4. My closing date is in exactly 10 days, you guys. (!!!) I’m going to be a homeowner. It’s a tiny, tiny condo, but it’s mine—and it’s mine because I worked for it.
5. Another proud moment for me.
. . .
xx
