1. Time doesn’t just feel like it’s moving faster, it is. The Earth is rotating more quickly due to global warming, causing this phenomenon scientists are (affectionately?) calling the “Chandler wobble.”
2. It’s my Dad’s birthday today. I set the alarm to call him at 3:30 a.m. (he’s an early bird and on the East Coast) and nearly gave him a heart attack—he thought something was wrong for me to call so late in the night/early in the morning. I’m sorry, Babi. Love you.
3. September issues are here (which is my equivalent of the Super Bowl or Black Friday blowouts). If you’re wondering how I plan to celebrate the last weekend of summer, I’ll be sweeping the local magazine stands and promptly returning home to pore over every page—ads included. It’ll be more rewarding than fighting the crowds in Venice, I’m sure.
4. Being Frenshe is good. Say what you will about celeb beauty brands (I tend to agree) but the scent profiles from this Target-exclusive launch feel like a grown-up Bath & Body Works. I’m addicted to the Cashmere Vanilla collection (I have the candle and milky body lotion, which I mix with Soft Services Carea Cream).
And: if it takes claims of Moodscience Scent Technology to bring fragrance back into skincare and bodycare (where it makes sense to), I’m in.
5. Also really good (and unsurprisingly): The Line by K’s fall collection. Of course I ordered a handful of pieces on the day of the drop—and as expected, the fit is immaculate and the fabrics, thin but buttery. The kind that moves with you and always feels yummy on skin.
. . .
xx
