1. Since Greece, I’ve been getting more into jewelry. Classic, simple stapes and the odd unique accessory here and there have always been my signature, but after browsing boutiques filled with artisanal pieces, I’m slowly learning how not to be afraid of wearing jewelry.
And while I typically avoid anything plated, I can’t help but keep this pair of Jenny Bird’s ‘Edie’ hoop earrings and her Collins Ave. choker open on my browser. Her pieces (save the metal quality) tick all the boxes: minimal, relatively classic, edgy (but wearable). They’re understated statements. A walking anomaly. I’m into it.
2. I’ve spent that past day researching all things Glycolic Acid and Vitamin C because, I, being the impulsive perfectionist, decided to (yes, I know, yell at me now) pop a pimple. Yes, I work in skin care. Yes, my co-workers would kill me if they found out. I couldn’t help myself, OK?
Learn from my mistakes. Never pop a spot or squeeze a blackhead. There’s a correct way to do it: See your aesthetician or dermatologist. Do it yourself and you risk post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (a.k.a. discoloration)—which is what I’m currently experiencing—or worse: permanent scarring (e.g.: pitting). #girltalk
3. It’ll be just over three years since I started dancing salsa. Time flies.
4. Denim jackets are everything to me right now. I’m currently stalking eBay for a vintage, men’s jean jacket by Levi to grunge up body-conscious dresses or throw over my shoulders, but I may give in and just buy one new at The Gap. I also have a vision of personalizing another jacket after seeing this one on Karla Deras, but I’m conflicted: I’d be proud to rep my man, but I also want to be seen as my own woman too. Thoughts?
5. It feels good to blog again. Even if it’s a list of five things.
. . .
xx
Your turn. Thoughts?
