1. I didn’t close on the condo.
Long story short: A plumbing issue surfaced days before we agreed to sign. Part of me is relieved—I’m grateful that this happened before, not after, I got the keys—but an even bigger part of me is disappointed. My ego is bruised because I let myself get excited before it was really mine…and told everyone about it. I’m sad because this was going to be more than just a milestone for me: It was going to signal a new beginning.
I’m still stuck in limbo. Literally, as I wait for the HOA and seller to resolve this mystery. And figuratively, too.
2. Another team of mine debuted! I had the honor of assisting the two directors of New Jersey Sensual Touch, a new bachata team created by Tanja Kesinger (La Alemana) and Jorge Burgos (Ataca) of Island Touch fame (choreographed by world champions Chaves and Silvia).
I’m so proud of my team, and for the first time, I’m kind of proud of myself too. Check out the video of “Sigo Acqui” here. (My partner’s student filmed it which is why the camera is only on us the whole time ?.)
3. I took my first ballet class in over a decade yesterday. I can’t believe I call myself a dancer. God I need work.
4. One month until Greece! Seriously, though—how does one get a perfect ass and a set of abs in ONE MONTH?!
5. This world is a sick, sick place. If we don’t speak up, if we don’t educate our children, if we don’t educate ourselves, if we don’t open our eyes, our hearts, our minds, we’ll destroy ourselves. Please don’t let this happen.
You deserve better. And so do our children.
