My dear neglected blog,
You’ll have to excuse the radio silence. (Though, judging by the stats these days, the only people who’ve noticed this lengthy absence are my parents and the odd spambot that’s subscribed.)
It’s been a busy two months since I last posted. A busy, writer’s-blocked two months where I went through exactly one Diptyque candle, binge-listened 20-something episodes of “Fat Mascara,” and acquired three Kara bags.
During this time, I also got my first tattoo, started laser hair removal treatments (more on that later), went to Orlando for work (where the above photo was snapped), came back and saged my condo. I took advantage of days off by spending half a day at the Brooklyn Museum in search of inspiration, admiring the work of O’Keeffe and Minter—but not before getting lost on the way there first. I spent too much on what’s essentially designer vegan food, but the thought is, if it’s wholesome, beautiful, and gives me joy in eating the way my body begs—it’s all worth it. I walked out of Stick Stone & Bone with four crystals. I left New York with six new books.
I stretched my limbs, walked miles, explored. Who knew that $30 for a train ride was all it took to feel free.
So, hi. It’s me again.
. . .
xx
