You know how Mondays go. Totally necessary—supply closet, lunch room or cubicle? Cubicle. Obviously.
So. I was awarded a “Stylish Blogger Award” by the super-sweet Sarah (thank you!!) earlier this week, and whether or not that was deserving is debatable. I’m honored and incredibly flattered (her writing is fantastic). However, good things never come free. Revealing seven things about myself is kind of obligatory as a tag-along to the award, and while we all enjoy talking about ourselves no matter how much we deny narcissism, I’ll just say: I’m incredibly boring.
1. I carry three notebooks at all times (if my handbag of the day permits that is, but I’m usually at work, so it’s a tote). Filofax, because it’s necessary, a writing journal, because that’s necessary too, and a little notebook, because I need some sort of organization with all the incessant scribbling I do.
2. I could probably live without my phone.
3. … but my Macbook is my life.
4. Purple and red are my favorite shades. I would have said black, but if we’re to be technical here, black isn’t actually a color so they say.
5. I’m your typical Aries, to the T.
6. I refuse to forgo the Oxford comma.
And for the juiciest proclamation of them all:
7. I know Britney Spears’ “I’m a Slave 4 U” choreography. I should be more embarrassed, shouldn’t I…
And for some good karmic dogma, I’m passing the award on to The Au Pair Project, Choc & Cinnamon, Mes Cachotteries, Adventures of Barbarella, With Love Gabrielle, Je Ne Sais Quoi, HRH Collection. In no particular order, obviously—they’re equally stylish in every aspect.
. . .
bises,
xx

It’s well deserved, that award… And you’re so cute – can you start doing vlogs? You sound like you have such a fun personality. Every bit coquettish & humble hahaha!

The more I read your posts, the more I feel like we’re kindred spirits (though you’re quite a lot more poised/mature sounding than I am). I always have a planner and a notebook on me (and usually a novel); I’ve been living sans phone for the past six weeks, and I too refuse to forgo the Oxford comma. All I think about is my tenth grade teacher fake-yelling, “I don’t care if they say it’s okay to not have a comma before ‘and;’ it’s not!”
Also don’t worry. I know the dance to SNSD’s “Gee” way too well. That dance has something called the “crab leg move.”

@Samantha Elisabeth: Oh shush, not at all (if I ever pluck up the urge to do a video, you’ll see how ridiculous I am, haha!) – but thank you nonetheless! I’m pretty convinced we’re kindred spirits as well. (: xx

@Dee: Ah! I was so confused for a second, but Sarah emailed me. Such a silly/embarrassing mistake, oy! But so glad you stopped by – your blog makes me smile (and pine over things my credit card would shrink at the sight of). My point: I adore your blog to no end. xx
Turkish Deelight says
