For seven years Kenneth Cole has collaborated with the Sundance Institute—a nonprofit organization dedicated to the discovery and development of independent artists and audiences in film and theater—designing and donating exclusive products to be worn by volunteers for the annual Sundance Film Festival January 20-30. This year, however, they’ve produced a limited edition, retail version of the volunteers’ vests: reversible, blue down-filled vest. The black side (my side of preference, of course) features channel quilting, whilst the light grey side does not. Both sides have welt pockets and glove hook, with the Sundance logo on the breast and Kenneth Cole brand embroidered on the back (which happens to be my favorite detail).
I was lucky to have been sent one of these vests (thank you, Lucy!)—which, of course, prompted an ever-so-professional photoshoot via Photobooth. Nothing too extravagant, obviously, but you get the gist. Do get one for yourselves; they are limited edition, and available at Kenneth Cole stores and online at kennethcole.com. The net profits from the sale of this vest will benefit the Institute.
Isn’t it lovely? I love nothing more than a simple, sleek silhouette. The vest itself is slim, so paired with my favorite cotton 3/4-sleeve U-neck shirt, black, skinny pants, and a pair of great ankle boots, it’s a bit reminiscent of Charlie’s Angels (version 2.0) and other femme fatales and spies. Add on a great pair of earrings to dress it up et voilà, an effortless outfit at the ready. Perfect for lazy winter mornings where all I want to do is take espresso shots after espresso shots and show the world my support for independent film.
