The Curation of a Style Blog + Literal Blacklist of Things
It’s been a while. Scouring the interwebz for the cheapest possible copy of several textbooks is exhausting, you know. Exhilarating? You don’t have to tell me twice. Because my energies are spread elsewhere—namely the aforementioned, work, and a indulging in one too many nights dancing—dressing has become a bit of a slap-and-go type of affair, one that easily takes me from day to night, from early morning caffeine runs to an entire day of lectures, to some bachata (et al.). Here’s an ode to the beauty of a personal uniform: understated, comfortable (in every sense), unobtrusive, effortless. A canvas for my unintentionally wild hand gesticulations, because statement jewelry of any kind would only be distractions. Eye contact is very important. While I find the idea of curating style blog that incorporates near-daily documentation of things worn—there’s something incredibly inspiring and intimate about such blogs versus fashion ones—incredibly romantic, I’m realistic. I dress basic. Boring to most because it’s hardly anything innovative, on-trend, or particularly unique, but I’m biased when it comes to my own taste. I adore black!
