Max Mara consistently produces some of the most beautiful collections every season—always elegant, poetic, sublime. At first glance, the show seems in line with the house’s core aesthetic (soft, even in its interpretations of trends and moments), but when I read that Ian Griffiths was moved by Sophie Taeuber-Arp’s work, I couldn’t unsee the inspiration. Her very essence was infused into the clothes: the play of textures (teddy meets rip-stop, cashmere juxtaposed with silver hardware) and shapes paid homage to her legacy. Silhouettes are defined yet move with ease (Taeuber-Arp was a dancer, too)—a sensibility reflected in the styling.
Max Mara never disappoints. Stunning, as always.
