… and potentially in my cart, if we weren’t firmly planted in the midst of spring.
The deepest discount is on FWRD (although only one size remains); all sizes are still available (at time of publication) on Net-a-Porter—on sale, but at $1,225. Even so: have you seen or known a more perfect backless dress? It dips so precariously low that the Brynlee is hardly for the faint of heart. However, if you’re brave enough to bear a little more, the sartorial result is surely worth the risk.
I recently stumbled upon this independent designer, Fonseca, and am head over heels for the Bo Peep ruffling and saccharine details on such a casual fabric and silhouette. Comparison is as reductive as it is cheap, but if you love the Mirror Palais‘ Victorian touches and Maison Cléo‘s love affair with melodramatic silhouettes, this is a brand that satiates that very intersection of vintage meets modern sensibilities.
I try not to subscribe to trends but I’ve never been happier for the return of the office siren aesthetic. I’ve always been partial to a patent pump—old colleagues can vouch for me here—and this little Larroudé pair is simply patent perfection. A manageable heel! A comfortable slip-on situation! A reasonable pointed tip with just enough toe cleavage! If I didn’t work from home in fuzzy slippers, I’d gladly consider gliding the hallowed halls from cubicle to communal kitchen with a pep in my step. (Although if we’re being honest here, I’m thoroughly committed to the work-from-home movement.)
Oxblood, merlot, and black cherry… oh my! The rest of the world is moving onto more seasonally appropriate shades (whatever that means) but I’m still devoted to burgundy year-round. I appreciate the simplicity of this W 78 St tote—the trapezoidal silhouette and calf hair is just enough edge to let the shade shine—and contrary to what my bag storage system is telling me, one simply cannot have enough totes. There is always a book to hold and a laptop to be carried.
… but in white gold, specifically. Citrine is abundance, warmth, success, and creativity—but it’s also just a stunning stone, if spiritual meanings bear no weight for you. Most of my wardrobe is rather cool in undertone so this warmth, especially set against white gold, is something I’ve been craving. Diamonds may be a girl’s best friend, but citrine is this woman’s.
If you’ve read a few of my perfume guides for Editorialist, you’ll know that I’m quite the devoted Perfumehead in every sense of the word. Canadian Tuxedo has been a longtime favorite, but since attending the brand’s launch party for LA LA Love, this just might take its place as my personal Perfumehead favorite. Without hyperbole, it’s everything I expected and was hoping for… and more. It’s love, lust, and longing. The best and dreamiest parts of Los Angeles, bottled up.
I need this Jacquemus leopard print coat biblically. It’s still just cold enough in the evenings where I might be able to justify the investment, but even if it wasn’t, this is a classic in both shape and print. As an unabashed cheetah print lover (Jersey roots reign loud and proud, unfortunately), this is by far the best take on the pattern I’ve yet come across. Not to mention: Jacquemus is inimitable when it comes to silhouettes. I have one and it never fails to make me feel like I have my life together (it’s a few seasons old, but I found one on Poshmark!). Le Trench Obra, I’m convinced, would expand upon that tenfold. Leopard, volume, and an itty-bitty nipped waist? Purrr-fection.
