This is me and my best fashion glare; how do you do?
Even more pressing, however, is this dress. How very Peter Pilotto, no? Graphic in color, print and shape, it makes for a simple but striking combination. I usually avoid padded shoulders (remember those sharp shoulders at Balmain circa 2009/2010, anyone? I’m so glad they’re yesteryear’s news) at all costs because I have broad shoulders to begin with, but with conservative neckline and low, scooped back, it’s quite the lovely contrast.
It’s not often I got for such colorful prints—again, given my shape—but anything with an art reference (given that it’s done right, oc course) simply can’t be passed up. I’ve been looking for a dress like this for ages now, and while I pictured in my mind this sort of pattern on a tailored, pencil or shift dress, this bodycon number fits the bill nicely—albeit a little unexpectedly.
Speaking of fit: it’s lovely. Not perfect, but given the price point and when thrown on with a pair of opaque tights, the dress is lovely. It’s not often than a high street brand produces a jersey blend, bodycon dress that fits well—only American Apparel has perfected that) but there’s no weird gaping or crooked hem that gives the body a wonky silhouette.

Nice fashion glare Kim! And I completely agree about that wonky seam that ruins the silhouette. Great outfit!
