Prada can do no wrong—and with Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons at the helm, I can’t help but want it all. Miuccia’s sensibilities plus Raf’s affinity for streetwear has been a magical combination (even more so for business, I’m sure), and after a lauded spring collection, the fall collection manages to stand on its own merits. This season’s version of the trailing train on a mini skirt? The classic white tank: a ribbed U-neck, one as basic as they come, with the iconic triangle logo front and center. Basics are Prada’s calling, after all. The black nylon hobo, the loafer (and all its iterations), and now The Tank further solidifies Prada as a household name: forever the creators of aspiration that actually just might be within reach someday, and once you’re able to secure your first piece, you’re part of the club. Prada is luxury, without doubt, but slivers of accessibility anchor its relevancy. Smart for revenue, a godsend for the fashion-obsessed. Money talk aside, this is another stellar collection.
