Because list-making makes me happy (here’s the proof)…
- Brie over toasted baguette, for a little taste of Paris in NJ suburbia. Sure, the French baguette isn’t so French (or fresh, mind you) and the brie isn’t so, well, Parisian brie, but it’s good enough for a simpleton Francophile like me. Amazing, isn’t it, how one bite can bring back memories of this and this.
- Seeing how far I’ve gotten on both a personal and work level. From 2011 to today. Twenty days into 2013. I’m thankful for every experience and moment I’ve had in between.
- Love. It needs no explanation.
- Victoria’s Secret’s semi-annual sale, which fuels a growing addiction. It’s not Agent Provocateur, but it’s a baby step in that direction. We’re talking satin robes, silk slips, lacy lingerie. I am a girl’s girl when it comes to delicate little underthings.
- … and on that note, matching lingerie sets. There’s no shame in wanting to feel beautiful. I believe the very essence of it is a to me, love me sort of thing more so than it is for show. Lingerie is luxury, expression, love, and appreciation: all for you.
- Taking dance classes again. Heels by day, kicks by night. Nothing is more transformative than clothing (or a move across the country, but we’ll save that one for another day); shimmy out of a pencil skirt and into baggy, men’s sweatpants and you’ll see an entirely different side. It can be intimidating when you’re surrounded by the stars—Geo Hubela, the Iconic Boyz, a few Brooklynettes, Tre Holloway— but it’s worth it to just shut them out, and let the music in.
