It’s obvious I love my public library. Maybe too much, since I make at least two visits a week. Barnes & Noble trips rivaling my library rendez-vous became far too expensive (it’s the Starbucks Venti Soy Chai Tea Lattes that do me in), but a girl’s got to get her reading done if she were ever to be regarded as a lady.
This month’s reading stack: Lolita, Persuasion, A Room of One’s Own, Lady Chatterley’s Lover and Peace Meals. Currently reading Lolita and completely enamored. Oftentimes I find that books considered “classics” just get the honorary title because they’re old and reallyunderserving (literary and otherwise), but perhaps I’m too young and silly to even render judgement. However, it’s books like Lolita that define the essence of (my definition of) a classic novel: unique, beautiful and rich in perspective and language. And the perfect accompaniment to a cup of Greek yogurt drizzled with honey and strawberries, pretty bikinis and lots of sun.
Title and author suggestions welcome! Let’s start a little book club with tea and macarons. (Fancy hats are not required.)
