Something red and new, in honor of the Lunar New Year.
Meet a recent (and most precious) acquisition: the red ruby glazed bracelet pouch from Loewe’s “Chinese Monochrome” collection.
Versatility makes this style particularly unique, of course, but I barely registered its potential for transformation. (Wear it over the shoulder or clip it from end to end to convert the bag into a bracelet-clutch hybrid.) All I cared about was investing in one piece from the limited-edition line given the inspiration; how could I not with the Spanish house’s earnest homage to traditional Chinese craftsmanship?
Cultural respect is in the details. From the authenticity of the palette to the porcelain-inspired accouterments, there’s a deep reverence for honoring and helping preserve this Chinese art. It’s the tonal touches that marry Loewe’s superb understanding of leather with ceramics—the donut chain, the puffed anagram, and most darling of all: an itty bitty bunny charm that is poured, molded, and glazed by hand in honor of the Year of the Rabbit.
