Sacai was brilliant, an impeccable demonstration of Chitose Abe’s eye and unparalleled vision. There’s a newfound formality to the clothes—perhaps a celebration marking Abe’s return to Paris Fashion Week—but it’s done true to Sacai form. Tailoring is exquisite yet fresh (cut and cut up in all the right places); jackets nipped higher than the waistline for a sweet, empire effect that further accentuates the exaggerated hourglass silhouette. Layers are smart, and the styling—belting and platform boots the stars—genius.
