Of course I loved how Parisian all of Paris Fashion Week was (true French people, however, may have found it cheesy, or as usual, reductive). Saint Laurent was the most nostalgic—expectedly so—and produced a show that captured the feeling of being back in Paris and wearing beautiful clothes. It was romantic. Evocative. Predictable, too, but in the best way possible.
I enjoyed the collection because it wasn’t trying to be revolutionary: it was simply a show that celebrated the house’s (and city’s) most timeless silhouettes. Designs were decidedly classic; simple lines, beautiful profiles, and je-ne-sais-quoi elegance were the focal point. This is the year when all you need is a dress you can live, love, dance, explore in.
Paris will take care of all the rest.
