This, ladies and gents, is when things get real. Perhaps in another life I’d be wielding a pair of Fiorentini + Baker pirate boots or shearling Burberry booties against Lady Sandy, but we’re practical girls here at ABC. Bare-faced and bare feet. I’ve even resorted to wearing leggings, a fashion faux pas I was once so strongly adverse to. Cashmere leggings are a godsend from above and a must for surviving winter; I’m a convert.
Let’s talk about my sweatshirt for a moment before we get back to checking off this list of “25 Things to Do When You’re Stuck Indoors.” (Do indulge me for a moment – you’ll have no regrets.) Admire it. How much do you love it?! It’s not often you stumble upon gems in the blogosphere (thank you, Rose!) that meet the functional + witty + unique + affordable umbrella requirement – but this, my friends is all of the above.
Literary (geek) chic* at its finest.
Plus, I heard baby blue was very much in this season.
To Survive Cabin Fever (Part II), You’ll Need:
- 1 comfortable sweatshirt (preferably printed with something cheeky)
- 1 pair of leggings (hellooo, comfy-chic*!)
- 1 pair of fuzzy socks
- Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter
- Burt’s Bee’s Coconut Foot Creme
- The September Issue
- 1 hunky copy of CR Fashion Book
- emergency chocolate bars (from your secret stash, of course)
The How-To:
I’m confident you ladies know what to to next. Snuggle up in bed with one (large) glass of wine and get cozy!

A handsome hunk of a magazine book. I love a good fashion magazine but this—this—is incredible in every which way and worth every pretty penny its subscription cost. Few things in fashion are both beautiful and genius: CR Fashion Book is it.

Watching The September Issue on reserve battery power, accompanied by green tea. I highly recommend OPI’s “Sweet Heart.” It’s well-loved, as you can tell. What I don’t recommend, however, is painting your nails in the dark.

This happened. Welcome to my emergency chocolate stash, hidden away in my beauty drawer (coincidentally). Lindt’s 90% Cocoa and Ghiradelli’s Sea Salt Soiree. I’m halfway through the latter (it’s been a week without power, guys!) and it’s a sea salt soiree in your mouth indeed.

Editor’s Note:
* Add -chic to any adjective and it becomes fashionable almost instantly. E.g., Hipster-chic. Grunge-chic. Comfy-chic. Lazy-chic. Bum-chic. Am I right, or am I right?
I’m obsessed with that pullover
Love the literary geek chic, tres beau! I have heard about–and am now actively searching for–these scarves with quotes from one of my fave bks: pride and prejudice–Jane Austen. It is a must-have also.
Adieu, scribbler
I was just wondering what size you got in that gatsby sweatshirt cause the sizing is really strange on the website and im not sure what to get. Thanks![🙂](https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/15.0.3/svg/1f642.svg)
Hi Erin! I got it in a small, I’d say they run fairly large (it’s unisex/men’s sizing). I hope that helps! x
