I know I had featured a “Bag of the Week” just a matter of days ago, but it’s hard to talk about just one bag a week when you are completely obsessed with bags (yours truly). So, I may just have to call this feature, “IT Bag of the Moment”, detailing my most recent and current infatuations, which may happen multiple times.
Once again sidetracking from my summer homework and SAT practice material (oh those things are such a drab!), I discovered the most amazing site EVER, apart from this (just kidding!). Bagsnob.com. I cannot even begin to explain or rave about how much I adore it, or how it has become my new Bible, or how much I would love to be in those the actual bagsnob’s shoes.
Anyway. As I was reading the recent “IT” bag entries, I had to share this one. I present to you,
The “It” Bag of the Moment:
Tod’s Dokt Bag
If only I could describe how much I am lusting after this bag. Forget the Miu Miu Vitello Lux, helloooooo gorgeous! Derek Lam (I am a huge fan) is truly, sheer genius. Forget the recession and $30,500 price tag, just like the Fall 2008 runways have. Designers have taken this chance to prove that the recession can never cease the want for luxury with exotic skins and lush furs strutting the catwalk.
The Dokt bag, made out of buttery alligator, is simply divine. I am literally drooling at the moment; the texture, sheen, and color of the bag is simply delicious! The smooth, chocolate brown and the blush-hued strawberry-shortcake like bag is beyond fabulous; the alligator adding rich topping of opulence. I love the bag’s classic silouhette; the structured lines are strong, yet not sharp, as it allows for some movement. The silver hardware is simply like icing on a delectable cake. This is one of the most elegant bags I have ever come across; its color exquisitely sweet, and its shape timelessly classic yet with a youthful look. In all honesty, I can say that I would choose the Dokt bag over the highly coveted Hermes Birkin Bag. And yes, I just said that.
Tod’s Dokt bags also come in adorable petite sizes, cupcake versions of the Dokt, but just as sweet. This smaller version in pony-hair, though not croc, are still just as exotic to the touch; I do not doubt its suave texture.
Both the grande and petite are divine, perfect for the fall season. The hues are prettier, softer versions of the fall foliage; the combination of a neutral tone and exotic fabric makes an unforgettable fashion statement. This bag is the epitome of business-like sophistication and elegance. Everything is perfect…now, I just need to find the money. 🙂
Auf Wiedersehen.
xoxo
