The next 50 or so hours are about to be a whirlwind. Let’s rattle off the to-do list real quick, shall we? Drive an hour to rehearsal, rehearse for two hours, drive home, remember to eat, shower, pack, go over presentation notes and practice, double-check my carry-on (I’m only going away for two days), practice some more, triple-check, hop on the train to New York, take a 3-hour dance bootcamp and challenge with a pair of world-famous dancers (!), possibly perform, hop on the train home, shower, check my suitcase, head to the airport, wait for my flight, business trip for two days, and come back home on midnight Wednesday.
(Note to self: b r e a t h e .)
What helps the process immensely is doing a little bit of planning—namely in the outfit department—so I not only feel ready, but look it too. Half the battle’s won when you’re dressed for the job and feeling yourself, no?
I’m toying around with the look below for my 7 a.m. flight; it’s equal parts comfortable and “in” (utilizing the sports luxe trend du jour ’til I die). In the ideal world I’d be effortlessly chic, à la, Rosie even heading to the airport at 4 a.m.—but alas, I am not.
Sweats and sneaker wedges will just have to do.
