Apologies in advance if the photos take forever to load. I’ve already culled down the set to the favorites I hope to save forever—for what, I don’t know—but it’s a rather long scroll to reach this tiny bit of text.
Happy to meet you here.
I haven’t much to offer in terms of unique analysis. It’s just awe, really. Thierry Mugler: Couturissme at the Brooklyn Museum was a most tantalizing exhibit—a wing of worlds, each larger than life, yet somehow just the tiniest (albeit well-curated) peek into Mugler’s genius. What artistry, what fantasy! Details are deliberate and deliberately cheeky (ah, the derrière décolletage!), and even the most minimalist of pieces are rich with backstory. It’s fashion at its finest: campy and center stage.
. . .
