Disclaimer: Post may or may not have been written at 2 a.m. I may or may not have been awake since 6 a.m., decided to take a pre-workout drink, and start doing squats. I may or may not sound a little crazy—but hey. Crazy’s how I (sometimes) do.

- NYFW S/S 2014. I don’t follow Fashion Week (whether or not that affects my credibility as a fashion writer is up to you, but erm, #YOLO? I’m kidding.) I used to, but sometimes fashion becomes a sort of keeping-up-with-the-Jones’ type of thing. It’s not easy, and for a person who’s run only by the things consistently inspire me, I don’t always find runway collections awe-inducing (and there fore don’t feel compelled to write about them here). That said, #NYFW’s Spring/Summer collections for 2014 were incredible! There were two in particular that had me swooning—which, as you know by now, is quite the feat—so look out for those reviews. I’ve been re-inspired by fashion, babes.
- Kind bars. I’ve been a fan of the brand for a while now, but as of late I’ve been stocking up on the Dark Chocolate Nuts + Sea Salt and Almond Coconut flavors like a hoarder on a health mission. They’re the perfect midday snack for to keep me running throughout my 18+ hour days and with my latest foray into truly eating as clean as possible, I’ve found that it’s the only sweet I ever crave. Hungry? Holla—I always have a few different options in my bag.
- Burger & Friends “Nobody’s Purrfect” raglan. Flashdance is the ultimate fashion reference for me, so take that and add some sort of witty/adorable/cheeky/crazy graphic on it and I’m in there like swimwear. Enter Burger & Friends and I’m sold. I’ve been living in my “Nobody’s Purrrfect” raglan and let me tell you: it’s pretty perfect. Spot on saying, noteworthy quality, and so versatile. Purrrfect for sleeping, schelpping around, salsa-ing, sewing, etc. You get the idea.
- The Blogilates flourless, gluten-free, 100% natural pancake. I have this slight obsession with eating clean lately (coupled with intense rehearsals and this strange desire to work out regularly) and ohmygoodness, this recipe is amazing. It’s the perfect way to start my mornings and the one breakfast that can truly sustain me throughout 2-3 hours of morning rehearsals. I personally think it tastes better than real pancakes (but I also enjoy my salad sans dressing, so you be the judge of that). All you need is a 2 whole eggs (I prefer 1 whole egg, 2 egg whites) and one banana. Whizz it up into a creamy batter, slick your pan with a tiny bit of coconut oil, and you have yourself a delicious breakfast.
- Working out. Actually, let’s re-phrase this: I like the idea of working out. I suppose I enjoy it to some extent, but exercise is hard. Frustrating. Time-consuming. Are the results worth it? Always. But here’s the thing: I always been in and out with maintaining a super healthy lifestyle and fitness regimen, and part of that inability to stick to it can be attributed to laziness and lack of motivation. Dancing salsa well is definitely a huge motivational push, but what I finally realized is that I’ve been going about fitness all wrong. What I needed was to change my perspective and mindset and look at it simply as why I feel the need to work out: it’s because I love movement just as much as I adore the human body. And making myself do something—even if for just 15 minutes—has never been easier. (Cute workout gear certainly helps, too.) The next step? Learning to love those damn cardio machines (and stay on them longer than a pathetic 2 minutes).
