BRB, Moving to Toronto • Soft Sensibilities
I’ve had my mind set on living in Toronto years before Cape Breton offered Americans refuge on their island if Trump won the election. The only thing keeping me back up until now* was the cold; if only winters weren’t so brutal (and my bones so brittle); I’d move to Canada in a heartbeat. It’s been a while since my last trip. School, life, work—the usual suspects—got in the way, but with Saks’ two new store openings in Toronto, Canada was meant to be. I set out bright and early to the airport. Passport out. Backpack on. Carry-on a-rollin’. Accompanied by my best friend to make sure I was properly caffeinated and tucked safely on board. Between the incredible vegan options and graffiti murals down every other alley, it’s hard not to fall in love with the city. Both Saks Fifth Avenue locations were gorgeous, as to be expected. I ogled and swooned until I could no longer was called away to host the trainings. That said, being the early bird I am, I had plenty of time to gush over bags and beauty bits while trying to “find” my way through the store. And the renowned shoe department!
