Leave it to Valentino to make the dresses you fall in love with—and the ones you reach for through your post-breakup re-invention. You’re Elle Woods and Holly Golightly; Lorelei Lee and Dorothy Shaw. The world may have you thinking in black and whites, but really, it’s black and pink: stark truth with vibrant, near-neon edges.
Overall: the kitsch factor was certainly there and likely inspired the edgier, punkier details (re: platforms and lots of cutouts). Even with the experimentation, the effect was still very much Valentino. Red carpet looks are a-plenty, editorial looks ready to be cemented into issues of Vogue to come. And that shade of pink? We’ve seen it before, but it’s perfection; definitely worthy of a monochromatic moment.
