I may own two Rick Owens pieces (a lemon, open-knit sweater wrap and draped wool-blend skirt), but neither pass the if-you-know-you-know fashion girl barometer. Both would be considered basic (translation: clearly made for retail), but to me, they’re beautiful. So, initial thoughts from someone who just loves clothes, but isn’t a real fashion person: Fall 2022 was very much in line with the designer’s signature aesthetic. This season, though, was clear with sci-fi intention: down the grey runway came a slew of sculptural looks that weren’t futuristic, but of another dimension. Otherwordly, really; elegant, but jarringly so.\u00a0The four looks above actually took my breath away. Owens is a master of unexpected silhouettes (expectedly) but these? In this color palette? These need visibility on a red carpet, stat.
