Mondays in my Filofax are always filled with an entire “to-do” list for the week, neatly bulleted\u00a0and dutifully checked\u00a0with a highlighter when completed. It’s a system I’ve used for a few years now (since junior high, I think), and it’s worked fairly well in organizing my head to keep sane. There is never an exception; in fact, it has become a ritual that’s become ingrained into my brain. The lists start off with the mundane: wake up before 7 a.m., raw smoothie. Yoga if I’m not running late. Make sure I leave before 9 for work. Work. Et cetera<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Then there’s more exciting things. Head to MAC counter to swatch Orb, Patina, Woodwinked, Mulch, Sable and Smut. Pick up MUFE eyeshadow #92 for Gucci SS 2009 look. H&M and Guess\u2014find Lolita-inspired tops!<\/p>\n

I’m instantly excited (and motivated to finish the inevitable tasks) at the premise of my little shopping adventures. Somehow temptation always seems to get the best of my pocketbook and I don’t mind it one bit…<\/p>\n

But of course, Mother Nature or some anti-consumerist, higher force intervenes\u2014unfortunately (or fortunately?!) enough. I’ll count down the hours left to work only to hear the pitter-patter of an onslaught of a rainstorm. When it rains, it pours, and when it pours, well, I stay home where it’s safe and dry because the wet dog look doesn’t suit me. Or, if the weather is ideal for an entire day of leisurely thinking, I’ll have found out that I have work. C’est parfait, ne c’est pas?<\/em><\/p>\n

No more makeup binging. No more endless hours of faire du<\/em> l\u00e8che<\/em>–vitrine<\/em>, and my savings are spared for the time being.<\/p>\n
