1. Oh, the feminine urge to turn my apartment upside down\u2014to deep clean, purge, and reorganize with the ruthlessness of a Miranda Priestly and the gentleness of\u00a0the<\/em> Marie Kondo! It’s a compulsion, really, one that emerges every time I’m ready to close a chapter in my life. No matter how big or small, it’s a desire that persists to the point of overwhelm:<\/p>\n

So, yes: this Friday night will be spent in, celebrating by way by cleaning, preening, and of course, Uber Eats.<\/p>\n

2. Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2022, Very Peri, is pure perfection. Should Smythson or Leuchtturm1917 consider a collection of stationery in this shade, we all know where my money’s going.<\/p>\n

3. I’ll be back visiting the East Coast soon, and I’m not mentally\u2014much less physically\u2014prepared to face the bitter cold. Yes, my beloved knits and Uniqlo Heattech will finally see the light after a year (why I even packed them with me at all, I’m not sure), and I’m excited to unearth them for this trip, but now that the mid-50s are considered cold enough for a puffer, pray tell: how will I survive a Jersey winter?<\/p>\n

4. In the same vein\u2014this means the wardrobe of black and neutrals will be back, and the Yamazaki ladder<\/a> of colorful, Californian wear will be in storage until spring. It’s like I’m a different person depending on the coast.<\/p>\n

5. Tonight’s cleaning spree will be fueled by leftover pizza (a DeRose pie from Pura Vita Pizzeria<\/a>) and Avaline ros\u00e9<\/a>, a comforting, perfect pairing for the night before new beginnings.<\/p>\n
