If you asked me which designer I’d choose to wear for the rest of my life, it would be Khaite<\/strong><\/a>. Expect no hesitation; I’d answer as if I could entertain such a thought with a writer’s budget. (She’s a dreamer if you couldn’t tell.)<\/p>\n

Vibe<\/em> is what Catherine Holstein gets\u2014one of those innate, if you know, you know<\/em> situations\u2014and consistently delivers. Think Khaite and your Rorschach response would conjure up Instagram’s most-loved models off duty (Elsa Hosk, Bella Hadid<\/a>, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley<\/a>); adjectives like “sexy” or “effortless” might come to mind. It seems derivative, but it’s not. Khaite manages to capture the essence of a specific moment before<\/em> that time, and the label does so exquisitely over and over again.<\/p>\n

Proportion play and exacting execution are what we’ve come to expect. Khaite’s dreamgirl is back in the real<\/em> world, and after two years cooped (and covered) up, she wants suiting and minis and night out looks she feels good in. The color palette\u2014black, cream, and skin (and tights over skin) as the foundation, punctuated by a tropical indigo (divine!)\u2014is perfection. Sensuality oozes through each look; the clothes are quiet but powerful.<\/p>\n

A second look is commanded, not demanded.<\/p>\n

Who is she? Where is she going? What’s on her mind?<\/p>\n

You’ll never know.<\/em><\/p>\n
