1. Excessive heat (the National Weather Service’s words, not mine\u2014though I’m apt to agree) has had me bound indoors for more days than I’d like to admit. I emerged only to fetch the mail and within minutes, returned dewy. To think: I was once so naive that I was willing to forgo central air in favor of one of those chic, 1920s L.A. apartments! Thank goodness my parents could convince me otherwise, else these past two weeks would’ve been unbearable.<\/p>\n

2. Helsa<\/a>. Is. Perfection<\/em>. The fit, the thoughtful details, down to how smoothly the buttons slip in and out of their loops\u2014impeccable. Everything exceeded expectations and I am now (impatiently) waiting for styles to restock. Once the temperatures drop to a cool 70\u00b0, I’ll exclusively be wearing The Line by K<\/a> and Helsa<\/a>, thankyouverymuch<\/em>.<\/p>\n

3. I’ve been burning this Being Frenshe candle<\/a> (see: no. 1, stuck indoors<\/em>) and it’s lovely: light yet comforting, sweet without cloying. Cashmere Vanilla<\/em> is delightfully warm, infused with a toasted jasmine rice note that differentiates it from other ambery vanillas on the market. At under $15 a jar with clean formulation, it’s as guilt-free as it gets with an indulgence\u2014making it a worthwhile and necessary frivolity.<\/p>\n

4. Speaking of fragrance: I recently shared some fall perfume recommendations<\/a> for Editorialist<\/em>. My personal favorite from the guide is Noisette<\/em> by Maison d’Etto<\/a>, which reminds me of the Crazy Horse in Paris\u2014the lobby, maybe, or the theater itself. I know it’s an oddly specific reference, but Noisette <\/em>is Paris on a winter night out. In the 9th Arrondissement, to be clear.<\/p>\n

5. Bottega Veneta is doing a collaboration with The Strand<\/a>. Yes, really, and yes<\/em>, with the <\/em>New York City bookstore.<\/p>\n

I’m pretty sure I gasped out loud\u2014maybe even muttered an audible no way<\/em> to no one but myself) when I first saw the news. I’m still in complete and utter disbelief even after seeing photographic evidence of the three styles (currently available at Bottega’s Soho location, and to be launched online September 15). This is iconic; definitely one of the top collaborations in my book, tied with the now sold-out Martha Stewart x Anti Social Social Club<\/a> drop.<\/p>\n

And if Santa’s listening: I want<\/del> need<\/em> the intrecciato tote.<\/p>\n
