I do like to think of jewelry as the gorgeous little sprinkles or sanding sugar or some type of confectionary topping that gives the outfit extra sparkle. It’s no wonder that I have a weakness for cocktail rings; a must-have in my book, utterly necessary to complete an outfit; after all, cocktail rings\u00a0are\u00a0the epitome all things fabulous. Arguably the most obnoxious of jewelry, yes, but a little bit of attention-grabbing mechanisms, when used in moderation (read: not pairing it when statement necklaces and<\/em> bracelets, all at the same time). Such rings elevate an outfit to a higher level: part glitz, part glamorous.<\/p>\n

So imagine my surprise when Nadia of ice.com<\/a> jewelry<\/a> emailed me, being so generous and so kind as to offering me any piece to make my own. It was quite agonizing having to choose just one<\/em> out of a myriad of choices (and my myriad I do not exaggerate at all!) from this selection<\/a>. Ice.com is quite easy to navigate; many a times when an online boutique offers such a wide selection, the site itself can become messy or hard to navigate. Ice.com still remained aesthetically pleasing whilst being easy to browse – narrowing down searches by category, stone, metal, color, etc. made the shopping process quite the breeze. It wasn’t until much later I narrowed my choice down to this breathtakingly gorgeous ring<\/a>: a 9 Carat Green Amethyst & Black Sapphire Sterling Silver Ring (www.ice.com<\/a>, $190 original, ICE price: $95!)<\/p>\n

Opening the package was just as pleasing as wearing the ring itself. Wrapped and packaged with care, the darling little box holding a navy velvet ring box and certificate of authenticity made the gift all the more luxurious. And now, the ring in all it’s glory. So elegant, with a slightly vintage, 1900s feel that makes it so timeless. I do love the light, mint green that contrasts so greatly with the black stones. I did feel like quite the sophisticated woman at the cast dinner after the Friday show; it’s amazing how one little accessory can change how you feel. The ring added just a touch of color to my all time favorite black knit batwing top, skinny jeans, and trusty black heels. It did make me forget that I was a sweaty mess, still in stage makeup, and wearing a leotard and tights beneath the ensemble. And I couldn’t help but look so adoringly at my ring-clad pointer finger every so often, intentionally pointing lavishly with it just so it would get the attention it deserves.<\/p>\n
