Victoria Beckham Beauty Finishing Touch<\/em> Collection<\/a><\/p><\/div>\n

1. It’s December.\u00a0December!<\/em> There’s a part of me that’s aghast with where the time has gone, but this year has also been filled to the brim with good things. Major changes, too. All the makings of a year well spent so far.<\/p>\n

2. I haven’t thought about smoky green eyeliner since high school (the go-to for performing on game days; green was our school color) but the moment the Victoria Beckham Beauty holiday collection<\/a> landed on my desk, I’ve been waiting for a moment to debut olive as my signature shade once more. Nostalgia is sweet, but VB makes it sophisticated. I’m indebted.<\/p>\n

3. Easing into dance after a few years has me revisiting what makes me feel good. In all parts of my life, of course, but with clothing in particular. What I instinctively turn to for rehearsal, I’ve found, are the silhouettes that I feel most at ease in\u2014not just comfortable in a literal, practical sense, but in helping me simply be or find myself. It sounds silly now that I type it out; the little epiphanies had while picking each outfit before class seemed like Rachel Tashjian<\/a> dissertations in my head. Anyway.<\/em> Some version of Mark Twain’s “Clothes make the man…” quote comes to mind.<\/p>\n

4. Universal Flowering Heliotrope Milkbath<\/em><\/a> strays quite a bit from my usual olfactive sensibilities and yet!<\/em>\u2014I can’t stop wearing it before bed. It’s sweet and soft; candied yet nuzzly, somehow. Vintage nightgown not included, but it certainly feels as though you’re sliding into bed Sleeping with Jacques<\/a>.<\/p>\n

5. I’m waiting for a quiet moment to savor Ana\u00efs Nin’s December 1936 diary entries. Reading a chapter at the start of each new month is a ritual I’ve been keeping since moving to L.A., one marked by the lighting of a new candle. Today’s will be D.S. & DURGA Portable Xmas Tree<\/em><\/a>, naturally. ‘Tis the season.<\/p>\n
