I had the pleasure of attending Byredo’s<\/a> holiday preview while in New York, held at the beautiful Ned NoMad Hotel<\/a>. Because I can barely contain my excitement about what’s to come, I thought it prudent to share my outfit instead.<\/p>\n

It’s nothing groundbreaking\u2014shades of white in the height of summer; predictable if not altogether practical\u2014but it did garner more compliments than I would’ve imagined. Simplicity is queen, I suppose, and I was tickled when an editor asked for every detail. (The highest form of approval, really.) The Helsa workwear skirt<\/a> is the star, cut to nip at the waist with an unexpected back slit that goes precariously high to make a denim maxi feel less stiff.<\/p>\n

Everything else is purely foundational. I can’t recommend Zara in good conscience but this particular tee was just what I was looking for in shape and length\u2014and trust, I have scoured high, low, and everywhere in between for The Perfect White T-Shirt\u2122. The bag, Bottega<\/a>: a mid-sized hobo I’ll recommend at every turn<\/a>. And though the shoes aren’t pictured, they’re worth mentioning. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, Bottega heels are incredibly comfortable\u2014second to, if not neck-and-neck with, Manolos<\/a>. These were the strappy sandals<\/a> I wore.<\/p>\n

The sunglasses, too! A staple and soft flex; I’ve been wearing Gentle Monster<\/a> frames for years before the label gained traction in Europe and North America. Quality, ingenuity, and fit are unsurpassable\u2014all of which I could also write a dissertation on, but that’s a story for another day.<\/p>\n
