I preach smart shopping and all that jazz, but here&#8217;s the little\u00a0asterisk\u00a0that leads to a footnote: Never have I claimed to be a minimalist, unworldly individual (I am an <em>American<\/em>\u00a0after all, with what I prefer to call an immense appreciation for the aesthetics in life&#8230;). I&#8217;ll be the first to admit I can be a bit of a hedonistic snob (in a dream life); should these lust lists be <em>actual<\/em>\u00a0shopping lists, I&#8217;d be head over heels in debt. One salvaged only by having one very, <em>very<\/em>\u00a0generous sugar daddy by my side. Alas, it is hardly the case. It&#8217;s especially handy when shopping: I always have a theme, or, better yet, and entire outfit I want. In either case I <em>rarely<\/em>\u00a0stray from the mental moodboard; it prevents any miscellaneous or impulse purchases whilst keeping my wardrobe streamlined. Just how I prefer it. Do try it. It pares down the whole process and makes shopping far more manageable and enjoyable. Think of it as a <em>challenge\u2014<\/em>never settle, and look for the best possible option. Always.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But I digress. With the onset of <em>actual<\/em>\u00a0winter weather\u2014it&#8217;s about time!\u2014toasty-roasty and all things cozy are all that occupies my mind when dressing in the morning. (An all black uniform is a given.) Between phases of what I call the &#8220;Bond Girl&#8221; and a more summer-appropriate, femme fatale&#8217;s take on the 70s era is a look where I sometimes like to <em>think<\/em>\u00a0I&#8217;m some sort of a biker or\u00a0rock-chic kind of lady (an oxymoron of sorts? Perhaps). In any case, this is my ideal winter armor. Super luxe,\u00a0\u00fcber relevant to my mood.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The foundation would consist of a <strong>black sweater<\/strong>, \u00a0<strong>black skinny jeans<\/strong> (another given), a <strong>Preen mongolian fur coat<\/strong>, and a pair of <em>amaaazing<\/em>\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.barneys.com\/7040-Boot\/158585005,default,pd.html\" target=\"_blank\">Fiorentini + Baker 7040 boots<\/a><\/strong>. It&#8217;s rare I fall for a flat boot or shoe and I feel quite unladylike in them, but these are just striking.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Minimal accessories<\/strong>, just as I like. A <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.karmaloop.com\/product\/The-Crown-Starter-Cap-in-All-Black\/184698\" target=\"_blank\">classic Supra snapback<\/a>\u2014<\/strong>perhaps unexpected, but let it be an ode to my adoration for all things hip-hop that coincidentally doubles as a <em>en pointe<\/em>\u00a0to the Acne SS 2012 meets\u00a0DSquared<sup>2<\/sup>&#8216;s signature take on the young-starlet-in-cognito look. (Also, hats are perfect for those days when my bangs refuse to cooperate.) One piece of jewelry\u2014a dainty, rose gold <strong>skull ring<\/strong>. Yet another surprising, slightly edgy, if not altogether gothic element. <strong>I adore skull jewelry<\/strong>\u00a0for a few reasons, one of which \u00a0is well put by one of my <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Human_skull_symbolism\" target=\"_blank\">favorite websites<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;The skull was a symbol of melancholy for Shakespeare&#8217;s contemporaries&#8221;.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Yes please. Plus, this human fascination (read: obsession) with death is interesting. We focus too much on our fear of being forgotten and our fear of the unknown.
