It’s been a while. Scouring the interwebz for the cheapest possible copy of several textbooks is exhausting, you know.\u00a0Exhilarating? You don’t have to tell me twice.<\/p>\n

Because my energies are spread elsewhere\u2014namely the aforementioned, work, and a indulging in one too many nights dancing\u2014dressing has become a bit of a slap-and-go<\/em>\u00a0type of affair, one that easily takes me from day to night, from early morning caffeine runs to an entire day of lectures, to some bachata (et al.)<\/em>. Here’s an ode to the beauty of a personal uniform<\/strong>: understated, comfortable (in every sense), unobtrusive, effortless. A canvas for my unintentionally wild hand gesticulations, because statement jewelry of any kind would only be distractions. Eye contact is very important.<\/p>\n

While I find the idea of curating style<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0blog that incorporates near-daily documentation of things worn\u2014there’s something incredibly inspiring and intimate about such blogs versus fashion<\/em>\u00a0ones\u2014incredibly romantic, I’m realistic. As usual, I digress. I’ve been relying almost too heavily on my newly acquired Calvin Klein leggings. It’s hardly your conventional legging; rather, it’s a thick, black skinny trouser\/pant \u00a0with the right amount of stretch perfect for any occasion. I prefer to go for the Bond Girl<\/strong> look with layers of black sweaters and boots, but that’s hardly news.<\/em>\u00a0Black on black on black<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Speaking of black and Bond girls\u2014my current lust<\/em><\/del> blacklist<\/strong>. Wanted:<\/p>\n

  2. Caradon Jacket<\/a>. It’d be impossible to translate into words how so very perfect <\/em>this coat is. Slim-fitting, luxurious suede jacket with long wool shearling lining, an oversized waterfall collar, peplum and seaming detail with signature horn toggle fastening is a description that never fails to evoke a longing le sigh<\/em>\u00a0from me. Has it already been a year since I’ve first fallen for it? Unrequited love is a miserable thing; I now understand the why’s behind all those Shakespearean tragedies…<\/li>\n
  3. Ayame Maxi Dress<\/a>. Bondage, harnessing, so very dominatrix. It’s very proof that sexy need not be in the (obscenely minimal) hemline.<\/li>\n
  4. Alibi Trenchcoat<\/a>. I’m on the market for one for practical and aesthetic reasons. And while the idea of owning a leather one has been lingering for too long on my mind, this wet-look rendition is just as viable an option. I love a when a modern interpretation of a classic is just as timeless as the original.<\/li>\n
  5. Aloquin Boot<\/a>. Yes, my shoes all look alike. And no, I can never get enough of the ankle boot.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
