Reading, collaging (for my inspiration journal), writing, putting off summer homework, watching a bit of TV, and of course, blogging. The likes. Sometimes in the midst of doing something my mind wanders a bit; I space out, my eyes glaze over, I stare off and let the subconscious take over.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One particular evening (or was it the afternoon? I lose track of time in the summer&#8230;) I gazed off, unable to concentrate on whatever I had been doing. My eye caught the eye of one particular dust particle &#8211; resembling a flying bit of a dandelion &#8211; floating ever so nonchalantly in the air. Not floating. Rather, <em>riding<\/em> the air, undisturbed and tranquil.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I&#8217;ve thought about it before. I do believe that there may be another world &#8211; or worlds, plural. Perhaps even another universe beyond our own beloved galaxy, either omnipotent or just as blissfully ignorant as we Earthlings are. Or maybe not even beyond our own galaxy, but <em>within<\/em>. I can&#8217;t help but think of Dr. Suess&#8217; <em>How the Grinch Stole Christmas<\/em> &#8211; that there could, quite possibly, be vast worlds within something as tiny as a snowflake. Like Whoville; not much different than our own Earth, or maybe completely different. Much happier, much more peaceful: a world sans hate, sans prejudice, sans war. Seemingly impossible in ours, but wholly probable in that tiny universe within that dust particle.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">And what if our every step, our every breath effects these ubiquitous, unknown universes around us? An angry slam of the doors multiplies in magnitudes that become strong enough to destroy an entire galaxy of innocent creatures. A giggle or a kiss or a look full of undying love has the ability to make the sun shine in another. Depression that causes rain; anger that causes torrential storms.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I do have a point in my mindless ramblings and wild imagination. <strong>Everything we do influences someone, or something, in one way or another<\/strong>. A smile could save the life of a stranger on a street. A careless toss of a scrap paper on the side of the highway leads another driver to believe that it simply is okay to just litter. The former leads to that stranger&#8217;s happy life down the future; the latter to a world of a dying Mother Nature.
