I rarely get excited over collaborations or capsule collections of any sort. One, I can\u2019t be bothered most of the time, and two, they\u2019re brilliant marketing ploys I refuse to get sucked into. And three, well, I always seem to forget the launch dates because I either write\u00a0everything<\/em>\u00a0in one big notebook or on haphazard Post-Its. It\u2019s disorganized organization at it\u2019s finest; inevitably, I manage to lose track of things along the way. Hence why I have a desperate need for a\u00a0Mulberry agenda<\/a>\u00a0in my life. Or a\u00a0Filofax<\/a>. Polar opposites in price range, but still both are expensive in their own rights. The question is, however, whether or not organizing my life is worth the plunge\u2026<\/p>\n

Because it\u2019s\u00a0imperative<\/em>\u00a0I remember the release date of this particular one.\u00a0Versace for H&M<\/strong>. I\u2019m excited.\u00a0Non<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Je suis excit\u00e9e!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

I love Versace<\/a>. Donnatella Versace. I loved Gianni, too, but there\u2019s something about a woman designing for the woman\u2014she<\/em>\u00a0understands\u00a0her<\/em>. Given my love for all things sensuous and womanly, my French declaration is hardly unwarranted (pun intended). The one thing Versace always manages to do very, very,\u00a0obscenely<\/em>\u00a0well (no pun intended) is sex. Or sex-y, rather. Dresses, party and otherwise, are oftenso<\/em>\u00a0sexy a man (or even yourself, if you\u2019re in the mood) is torn between tearing that dress off then and there and simply staring in admiration of the wonders it does for your body.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m all about leaving clothes on though, if not for decency\u2019s sake, then for (1)\u00a0leaving more to the imagination, because doing so is the ultimate rule of proper coquetry<\/a>, and (2) Versace is far too expensive to be torn in lustful fistfuls and left to lie in some heap on the floor.<\/p>\n

And since Versace\u2019s oh-so-sexy dresses are beyond reach of my grubby little fingers, it only makes sense that\u00a0je suis excit\u00e9<\/em>\u00a0and my need for a Filofax of sorts increases by tenfold.\u00a0\u201cFor me this is an opportunity to show to a very very big audience what Versace has been and what Versace is now,\u201d designer\u00a0Donatella Versace<\/a>\u00a0said in a\u00a0video<\/a>\u00a0announcing the collaboration.<\/p>\n

H&M\u2019s creative advisor, Margareta Van Den Bosch, says the collection will commemorate the fashion house\u2019s most iconic pieces dating back to the \u201980s, and will includes 40 women\u2019s pieces, 20 men\u2019s pieces and, of course, accessories.<\/p>\n

The tribute to the past, however, is not to be misconstrued as simply a direct revival and nothing more.\u00a0\u201cAs a designer I look at the future\u2014I never look at the past, but being the sister of Gianni, the DNA is Versace and I\u2019m going to use iconic Versace pieces of iconic Versace moments which are not exactly always the past but also the present,\u201d Donatella said.<\/p>\n

One piece from the H&M collection has already debuted on the runway; only a few days ago, Donatella wore a black leather mini embroidered with gold studs to close her men\u2019s show in Milan.<\/p>\n

The collection is set to hit 300 H&M stores on\u00a0November 19<\/strong>. Mark your calendars,\u00a0mes\u00a0ch\u00e9ries!<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n
