It’s often hard to be inspired in the fall and winter months\u2014especially post holiday booze fests<\/em><\/del>\u00a0soirees that make bare legs and sparkle the norm\u2014when all that’s on our mind is watching Ugly Betty<\/em> under the covers with a steaming cup of hot chocolate on the side.<\/p>\n

Okay. Maybe the\u00a0Ugly Betty<\/em> part is just me. But who can resist her genuine charm and plucky optimism? I think there’s a lesson to be learned from her:\u00a0be\u00a0<\/em>genuine in what you say and do, and the Universe will return the favor<\/i>. Besides, post-exam trauma<\/a> is best dealt with mindless things like re-watching every episode of a favorite show. Personal experience shows that re-runs go best with Christmas cookies.\u00a0Trust<\/em>.<\/p>\n

But point is, well-frosted and evenly-sprinkled sugar cookies are about as chic as we want to get when it get’s too cold to\u00a0Instagram<\/a>\u00a0outdoors. It’s either our down duvet covers or their jacket counterparts; whichever is warmer (and more cuddle-friendly) \u00a0makes the cut. And while a limited selection makes for smoother mornings, winter fashion\u00a0isn’t<\/em> as boring as it’s made out to be. The puffer jacket isn’t<\/em> the only warm form of outerwear! Winter doesn’t limit our style repertoire;\u00a0we have the right to choose! It’s a debate that has since evolved from practical (re: warm) versus\u00a0chic<\/em> to simply\u00a0what suits our mood<\/em>. Fur, shearling, wool, or the ever-classic down-feather puffer.<\/p>\n
