\"altuzarra<\/a><\/p>\n

I wouldn’t necessarily call Altuzarra’s spring\/summer collection effortless\u2014sure, there’s a certain “undoneness” about it all, but it’s\u00a0precisely<\/em>\u00a0undone. Even so,\u00a0I mean it in the best way possible: this is businesswear purposefully unbottoned and disheveled. It’s sexy; it’s cool.<\/p>\n

The hero look is without doubt, Joan Smalls’ look: a striped, silk button-down unbuttoned to the navel, and tucked into a midi-length skirt with thigh-high split. There’s something Mediterranean or beachy about the whole look\u2014maybe it’s the striped, fringed skirt that\u00a0could<\/em>\u00a0be a sarong or picnic cloth grabbed haphazardly and tied (chicl-y, I must add) around the waist.<\/p>\n

And it works.<\/p>\n

It’s ensembles like Smalls’ that, when thrown into a mix of more recognizable (read: wearable, albeit with a similar “undoneness”) LBDs that lend the entire collection its holiday feel. In fact, I find it unique: there’s none of that expected brights or pastels; sarongs and swimwear-inspired tops; floral or tropical prints; etc. Instead, Altuzarra is fall clothing\u00a0undressed<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Undressed, undone, unexpected. It’s beautiful.<\/p>\n
